EgeGaz Aliağa LNG Terminal boosts gasification & dispatch capacity, now capable of storing 170 Million Sm3 on site

The Aliağa LNG Terminal, owned and operated by EGE GAZ AŞ, is now ready to meet increased demand this winter, thanks to the completion of a capacity upgrade project. This achievement contributes to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources’ broader strategy to strengthen Türkiye’s natural gas supply security. Situated on Türkiye’s Aegean coast in Aliağa, a major seaport north of İzmir, the EgeGaz Aliağa LNG Terminal was built by EGE GAZ AŞ, a member of the Çolakoğlu Group, a conglomerate that has a diverse portfolio spanning iron & steel, banking, electricity, natural gas, and liquified natural gas. Fully operational since 2006, the terminal used to boast a natural gas storage capacity of 170 million Sm3. The terminal’s daily gasification and dispatch capacity has recently been upgraded to 40 million Sm3, thanks to the national natural gas supply security enhancement projects launched last year. The terminal’s capacity upgrade enables it to meet 15-17% of national peak demand during winter. The terminal is also equipped with a berth that can accommodate the largest LNG vessels and has the capability to load LNG onto ships and road tankers.
